Staying Despite all

Keith was fuming again, going about with that frown on his face and muttering to himself. Sheila knows better than to utter a word and she could replay this scene over and over again. it will only result in one thing, someone getting hurt! After all she has learnt to live with him and tolerate his hurtful words, and occasional beatings which is getting more frequent now. "i must love pain" she wondered why she is still with him. "what did you just say? " Keith asked angrily. Sheila shuddered not realising she spoke out. "I wasn't talking to you" she replied. "Good, as you know what will come your way" He said glaring at her and waving his hand to display a hitting wave of hand.

She quickly grabbed the umbrella, and put on her coat and made a dash for the door, "i"ll be going down the road to get groceries, won't be long and Jay is still snoozing" she usually use this escape route to avoid further aggravation. "God knows what upsets him this time" she said to herself.

But I am not going to wait to find out! Stepping through the door she heard him said something "see you later then!, that was good enough for sheila to quickly get away.

Heaving a sigh of relief as the cold rain drops on her face, she began to cry."how did it get to this? she questioned herself. " I brought it upon myself, am sure I did" and self blame and regret kicks in as she walks along the shrubs which has become her path to safety and away from the reality of the breakdown in her marriage to Keith.

Sheila and Keith met in Lome when she was 18 years, Keith George's family had just moved to their neighbour hood from U.K. They had just relocated, the family of George were British born well educated, father Sian and Meg the mum have 3 children, Ray, Keith and Lotte, Ray didn't come back home with them, he was rebellious and chose to stay back in UK.

P.S
This is just a fiction and the names and location are not true
